Timothy R. Scott is a seasoned supply chain and operations executive with more than 30 years of global leadership experience designing, building, and scaling complex, multi-site distribution and logistics networks across retail, grocery, and consumer packaged goods. As Founder of True North Supply Chain Advisory, Tim partners with CEOs, founders, private-equity sponsors, and boards to align supply chain strategy with enterprise growth, performance, and long-term value creation.
Tim’s work blends disciplined strategic foresight with hands-on operational execution. He helps organizations optimize planning, inventory, sourcing, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery systems to support aggressive expansion while improving reliability, cost structure, and risk resilience. His approach is grounded in building scalable infrastructure that enables growth rather than constrains it.
Prior to launching his advisory practice, Tim served in a series of senior executive roles, most recently as Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Grocery Outlet, where he led the transformation of a distributed supply chain network supporting hundreds of retail locations. Over his career, he has held leadership positions at Sobeys, Metro Inc., Genpact, Mondelez, Kraft Foods, Coca-Cola Enterprises, and Nestlé, consistently delivering measurable enterprise value through cost reduction, operational efficiency, and systems modernization.
A former Royal Canadian Navy officer, Tim’s leadership philosophy emphasizes disciplined execution, team development, and mission clarity. These principles translate into strong governance, performance management, and cross-functional alignment in complex, high-growth environments.
In his fractional and advisory capacity, Tim provides executive-level guidance on supply chain strategy, network design, technology enablement, and operational risk mitigation. His work focuses on ensuring supply-chain capabilities scale in lockstep with business ambition—improving service reliability, reducing cost and exposure, and enabling organizations to compete more effectively in dynamic markets. Based in Northern California, Tim also advises technology and innovation partners shaping the future of AI-enabled, analytics-driven supply chain execution.
